Parallel Algorithms

Shared memory parallel computers offer the possibility to implement parallel software caches, i.e., the processors may share intermediate results of recent computations through a data structure which all processors can read and write. It is possible to extend the technique to be used in distributed parallel computers whenever the time lost in communication is less than the time to compute the data individually.
